So you want your lawn to look like the ball field at
Great American Ballpark!

Let me tell you what you would have to do:

Let’s start with the soil – there is none.
The field is 100% sand with a drain system underneath. The grass of choice is 100% Perennial Rye. The Red’s admit it is better than any Blue Grass because of Rye’s ability to germinate quickly and for quick repair the Rye tolerates plenty of traffic.

The Problem with Rye Grass - is that it has an attraction for lots of lawn disease causing the crew at the ball park to treat with fungicides every 10 days at $1,000.00 per application. Growing on 100% sand means you cant use any of the fertilizers used for turf growing on soil.

The Reds have to micro feed (spoon feed to moms) very frequently with multiple feedings all season. If you find seed and fertilizer promoted as a duplication of Great American Ballpark's practice it is very misleading.

It’s interesting to note that Doug Gallant (head grounds keeper for the Reds and the one responsible for that lush green field) recommends All Turf Fescue for all home owners.

Just thought you would like to know all the facts and not the misleading ads you see and hear.
