| Denny’s Tips of the Week The weather has been very wet and totally frustrating for you and for Bloomin’ and Denny McKeown Landscape. As bad as we would all like to, you can’t force mother nature. Patience, I keep telling myself, will prevail if we allow it to. Hang in there. Re-apply your Dimension to all your beds. If you already did this spring, do it again. It’s too rain diluted. Your Prodiamine should still have a couple months of protection against weed seeds in your lawn. Depending on future rains, you might want to put down an application of Dimension down this summer. Some lawn services offer a tree and shrub maintenance program to help fill the void in their monthly billing cycle. Don’t fall into this trap. 90% of the insects that will visit your landscape this year are strictly nuisance bugs and won’t cause harmful results. Same for disease. Your treatment has to be on the plant before the disease takes hold. Again, the damage, if any, is strictly aesthetic. Save your money for more flowers to beautify your yard. If you have a bug or disease concern, bring in a sample and let our great nursery professionals make you feel better and informed. |
