Giving Good Gardening Information is Crucial

A recent column in the local newspaper listed some things "To do in the garden this week". This information was obtained from a reputable area horticulture group, unfortunately the information given was not the best advice they could give. And because some people tend to believe everything they read in the paper it can be aggraviating.

a. It was stated that tender veggies like carrots, lettuce and radishes need frost protection.
Response: HUH - All three are cold hardy??
You don't need frost protection.

b. They also stated that Mom’s Day was the OK to plant your annuals outdoors.
      Response: GOOD LUCK!!
Mom's Day was early this year so best to wait until after 5/17th

c. And last but not least to increase you’re watering of indoor plants.
Response: ONLY WATER IF THEY ARE DRY!
