		Denny’s Tips of the Week 1. You might think I’m a broken record but it’s important that you buy healthy flowers to plant around your home. What you buy won’t get any better looking on the drive home. It is very important that the annual flowers you buy are from flower people who know what they are selling and your success will be their success. 2. This very wet, cool weather is going to bring about some plant disease and lawn disease concern. The vast majority of plant diseases cause only a small, temporary amount of esthetic damage. All plant diseases need 1. Environmental conditions, 2. A host plant and 3. That disease spore that’s always around but cannot attack that plant without the first two being present. More info to follow later in this newsletter.
		3. The only times you should not install plants is when the soil is too wet or the ground is frozen. That equates into 9 months you can plant and late spring and summer time are not legitimate reasons not to. Don’t put your shovel and trowel away. Your yard needs them to make it look beautiful again. P.S. moist soil is easier to prepare planting spots for these new trees, shrubs and flowers. 4. Keep the grass in your lawn mowed to 3 inches when cut. Long healthy blades make for a deep healthy root system that truly does make your lawn more drought resistant. 5.
