Gardeners Make Great Neighbors by Chris McKeown (President/Owner)
Consider yourself lucky if you live in a neighborhood where everyone takes pride in their home and the appearance of their front landscaping.

When yards and landscapes are well maintained everyone in the neighborhood shares the rewards.

Your front landscaping can make your home feel more welcoming and inviting to others and is the best way to express your personality.

Neighborhoods with well kept landscaping tend to hold their value more providing curb appeal to the houses.

Neighbors with common interest, like gardening, enjoy each other’s company.

There also seems to be a greater feeling of community when everyone has a well maintained landscape.

Unfortunately, when there is a home that is not well maintained, everyone else suffers. The values of the other homes in the neighborhood are hurt. This creates a lot of animosity from other homeowners in the neighborhood who do care about the appearance of their property.

Our company has been privileged to operate in a Blue Ash residential neighborhood for over 16 years now. Being a good neighbor is just as important to us, so we have made several recent improvements of our own, as a way to enhance the community.

With our convenient location adjacent to the Ronald Reagan Highway and major interstates we are able to service many communities. We provide quality products and services, in addition to educating customers about the best plant choices and how to successfully maintain their landscaping investment.

Let us help you be a successful gardener so you can do your part in making the community where you live a better place. We hope that you are successful and share this with your neighbors and when you are not we hope you share this with us.

Denny’s 3 Step Lawn Fertilization Program
Over the last two season’s many homeowners have switched from the traditional 4 Step programs to our 3 step program. These homeowners have continued the program because their lawn has become the best looking lawn on their street. 4 step programs apply too much fertilizer at the wrong time of the year and not enough at the right time.

This 3 step program follows recommendations from Ohio State University.

You can view the information from Ohio State on our web site www.bloomingarden.com

Reasons Why Fall is the Best Time to Plant - Denny McKeown (CEO/Owner)

There are several reasons why fall is the best time to plant.

All plants, new or established, transfer their energy from making new growth to making new roots in the fall. Because of this process, plants installed now will get established very quickly in their new home. Since the roots have all winter to grow,

Once spring arrives the plant will take off with lots of new growth. Plants installed in the spring will basically not grow until the spring of the next year because the plant will not have the majority of their new roots until the fall.

If you plant in the fall, the maintenance is also greatly reduced compared to spring plantings.

Another big advantage to fall planting is that you’ll be able to purchase larger trees and shrubs at the same price than those smaller ones that you’ll get in the spring.

Trees are also great for the environment as explained in Denny’s column.
